Free Wolfram Alpha Pro
Mathematica is now available in downloadable “Desktop” and cloud-hosted “Online” versions. Both are included in Bryn Mawr’s license.
For full functionality, you'll need a Wolfram ID and subscription to Wolfram Alpha Pro. Here are the steps involved. If you don't already have a Wolfram ID, create one using your Berkeley email address as your ID at this link (also available through mathematica#Downloads ). Are there any free online and/or offline alternatives to the step-by-step-solution feature of Wolfram Alpha Pro that can be used on Mobile phone? This feature is able to display step-by-step-solutions of a wide variety of algebra problems. Earlier there was SymboLab. Now their mobile version has gone paid.

- Mathematica Desktop is installed on all Bryn Mawr public library computers and many departmental teaching and lab machines.
- To access Mathematica Online, Wolfram Alpha Pro or install Mathematica Desktop on other machines, please follow the directions for Getting Access below.
- Bryn Mawr’s Mathematica license allows parallel computing on dedicated research clusters and in ad-hoc or distributed grid environments. For details, please contact Andy Dorsett at adorsett@wolfram.com.

Getting Access
Step 1: Get a Wolfram ID (new users only)
Free Wolfram Alpha Pro
- Go to user.wolfram.com and click Create Account
- Fill out the form using your brynmawr.edu email address and click Create Wolfram ID.
- Check your email and click the link to validate your Wolfram ID

- Go to Mathematica Online and sign in.
Mathematica Desktop
- Request an Activation Key for one of the following:
- Click the Product Summary page link to access your license.
- Click Get Downloads and select Download next to your platform.
- Run the installer and enter the Activation Key when prompted.
